The earliest models were simple clay pressed bowls, formed by pressing the clay onto pre existing moulds. Some famous examples of beautiful hand painted ceramic come from the states of Taxcala, Puebla and Oaxaca. No Mexican table can miss a salsa bowl. These bowls are best used for display and presentation purposes holding salsa and/or Guacamole to accompany nachos, tortillas and tacos.
