This unit can be used in conjunction with the phase selector or as a standalone unit. The unit can be used when a generator has no AMF(automatic mains failure panel) present, providing the generator has a remote start input. The ATS module will monitor the incoming voltage from the utility. Should the voltage falls below a preset value for more than a preset time, the unit will then start the generator and close the generator contactor. The ATS module will then monitor the utility and when the utility voltage supply is stable for a preset time, the ATS module will open the generator contactor, wait for a preset time and then close the utility contactor. It will allow the generator to cool and then shut it down, leaving it in standby mode for the next utility failure.
